History
Longtail Studios is a videogame developer started by Gérard Guillemot, one of the cofounders of Ubisoft Entertainment. The founding mission of the company is to create next generation of character driven video games.
Longtail Studios is comprised of four development studios: Quebec City, Prince Edward Island, Halifax and New York City. Longtail creates games for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Longtail Studios doesn’t want to be the place you punch-in for work; we want to be place you are excited to go every day. The people who work at Longtail are passionate about games. They love playing games, talking about games, and of course, making games.

Teamwork and Scrum
Creating the best video games is about collaboration, teamwork and good communication between the teams. Our offices are relaxed, open environments, designed for game development. We make sure that everyone has a way to communicate directly and efficiently with their colleagues.
For the management of its projects, Longtail Studios uses the agile development method known as Scrum. It allows us to greatly improve the productivity of our teams and rests upon our company’s most important values: team spirit, good communication, simplicity, efficiency, quality, and flexibility.

Relocating
Moving to a new place can sometimes seem complicated. Longtail Studios will take care of paperwork for you, everything from job permits to applications for the selection certificate. We can even help you find a place to call home within your new city. Longtail will also provide you with financial assistance for your relocation, making sure you’ll feel great both at work and home.

Welcome to Quebec City, one of the most dynamic cities in Canada. The studio is in the heart of the Nouvo St-Roch district, the new center of the arts and multimedia industry in Quebec City. Enjoy renowned restaurants during lunch and a wide variety of fine dining and shows in the evening.
Just by walking around the office you’ll be taken into four centuries of History, where modern edifices arise alongside French colonial buildings. Enjoy the many boutiques of Quebec City, romantic walks alongside St-Lawrence River and musical events next to majestic castles like the Château Frontenac.

New York City
Surrounded by the famous Manhattan skyline, Longtail Studios is situated at the cusp of two great downtown neighborhoods and enjoys one of the most desirable locations in New York City. In one direction is bustling Soho, with its fabulous shopping and trendy gourmet restaurants. Stroll along the cobblestone streets and take in iconic New York.
In another direction is the lovely and picturesque West Village, with its outdoor cafes, rich literary and artistic history, and some of the best people-watching you can imagine. Take in the atmosphere as you stroll just a few blocks to the newly renovated piers of Hudson River Park.

Charlottetown
Prince Edward Island
Welcome to Prince Edward Island. PEI is located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, north of the Nova Scotia peninsula. The capital, Charlottetown is just 15 minutes from the beach and boasts beautiful summers, two lobster seasons, and plenty of great restaurants. At night, you can always find live music ranging from rock to choral.
The studio is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, at the Atlantic Technology Center. Our office features natural lighting and has a perfect view of the sunset. We’re proud to be a creative, relaxed, playful, and supportive work environment. At lunch, you’ll always find someone to play a video game or grab a bite to eat with. Halifax
Located right downtown and minutes away from the harbor and its sights, Longtail Studios is right in the heart of Halifax. We are on the corner of Barrington and Spring Garden Road, two of the most happening streets in the city. In every direction you can find amazing shops and some of the best restaurants Nova Scotia has to offer.
Tons of nightlife also surrounds the Studio and you’ll never have to go far to find great time with great people. A few blocks down and you’ll be at the historic harbor front where you can see all types of ships and vessels, from military, to yachts to cruiseships as well as more amazing shops and restaurants - and talk about great seafood!
Halifax is an awesome little city that thinks big. It has everything you want in a larger city but all the local flavor of a small city. So, are you dropping by soon?
